Is it so in Qatar wow, i wonder what news you have been reading Lady?There are churches every where in Qatar and a new massive one is being built, Jews and Christians operate freely in qatar and the rest of Arab land they are even directors of big firms and earn big bucks even more than muslims here. Christians and muslims have been living hand in hand in Palestine and Iraq andmany other arab lands for years until the perpetrators of evil came and made trouble.

Actually I accept a secular society. Christianity and any other religion should be kept separate from the State. Islam is different it is both a religion and a political ideology. You know the UK has a Pagan heritage if you look back enough. What your actually saying is there, more of us than you, so if you want to be on our turf you play by our rules.

Freedom of religion is one of the fundamental pillars on which western society stands. It would not be western society if you forced Christianity upon people, nor could it be done.

See this thing about being "assimilated" is to me and in this age really a cover and has been a cover for a great deal of injustice and tyranny..

The Puritans applied it against Baptists in the early colonial times in America... running people off their little territory because they had a different theology.

It was later applied against American Indians where most of their culture and religion was destroyed.

And how about the aborigines in Australia?

It's being applied today in Iran against the Baha'is and others.

What we really need in my view is full adoption by all nations that have signed it which is all nations of the UN have done is to enforce the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

If Christianity chooses to have separation between church and state, then there will be no spiritual progress in western nations. Let's face reality sister. Christianity is reducing in western nations only because Christianity is not publicly acclaimed. In fact, most Christians are embarrased when talking about God in a public manner.

Now with Islamic countries, you are right, for shariah is not separate from state. However, due to this Islam still manages to perpetuate, and when the adhan publicly calls prayer, Muslims quickly run to the mosques. Christian nations need to do the same or your cause is nothing but a fantasy.

Sadly this is so.
This is probably one reason why they (Muslims) are my favourite evangelism group, because they speak about God so freely, that it is the right thing to do and say. I know for myself I start talking about God to my work mates and staff, and I can tell what they are thinking. I just start laughing. It's not that I am embarrassed, but I am made to feel that way, that I'm a fruit cake or something. But clearly I really don't mind that. So I just grin at their comments, but I know they do listen to what I say, because I say it in a relationship way. They tell me their stories, and I interpret how the Father is trying to show His care and love for them.

I get them attuned to the spiritual side of things, so they can see how God works in my life, their life and any body elses life who are connected to me or them. Then they start to see the patterns, the little everyday miracles that are just a common occurrence with most Christians, who just fail to acknowledge it or thank our Father for his wondrous love and gift of grace.

It's showing that reality that makes people think, and also showing the human struggle for living righteously in a decadent Western world.

Well praise God that you are able to accomplish this. I on the other hand are faced with people who do not even want to mention the word "God". For instance, my family members are Catholic, but they feel uncomfortable when God is mentioned. Even my friends. All they want to do is drink, gamble, and talk nonsense, but if spritual conversations start to erupt, then they emphatically tell people to stop talking about religion. And these people are suppose to be Christians.

Muslims on the other hand can go on and on when it comes to talking about God. They are not embarrased. In fact they are ready to talk about God. Even if you argue with them about Christian-Islamic debate, they never condemn anyone. However, Christians are ready to condemn even if they themselves are not religious. To Christians, being labeled as a believer suffices admission to heaven. Sad but true.
