• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This forum is my first time in a church family in over thirteen years.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I took time off to heal from the abuse I suffered as a child. Before leaving the church, I attempted to heal within the church, but failed to get much help from the church setting and prayers and deliverance prayer. I was in therapy at the time with a Christian therapist as well which never worked very well.

When I stepped away from the church, I used art, writing stories, therapy, and prayer to help me recover. During my search for a Christian therapist, I found many could not stomach (literally making them ill) what happened to me, and I hadn't even touched on the worst of it. So I gave up on that. I found better counseling with a secular therapist.

My goal is to slowly integrate back into the church and hopefully into a physical church.

I'm not altogether sure how supportive this group is, as I am a newbie too. But I welcome you, and I hope that you will find some comfort in the more thoughtful posts.

I would encourage you to prayerfully persist in your search for a physical place of worship in conjunction with your online pursuits. Don't rush it. The closest relationship you really need is with your Creator, so talk to him all day, every day, ask him to guide you, and in his due time you will find what you need.

I have always kept a close relationship with Jesus, talking to him all day and praying for healing and guidance.
