"fire" in the heart?

On television for example you may spot people saying the Holy Spirit is a fire. "Bring the fire, fire, fire, fire!" They plainly say the holy spirit is fire! People REALLY do receive flames inside of their hearts. But is this REALLY the holy spirit?

But the Lord says something much different concerning the holy spirit.

John 7:37-39
Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive.

He said the Holy Spirit will feel like rivers of flowing water.

But the people on television keep saying that it is fire. Why do they say such things? Fire to me, is being chastened!

Psalm 39:1-3
I said, “I will guard my ways,
Lest I sin with my tongue;
I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle,
While the wicked are before me.”
I was mute with silence,
I held my peace even from good;
And my sorrow was stirred up.
My heart was hot within me;
While I was musing, the fire burned.
Then I spoke with my tongue:

Psalm 39:9-10
I was mute, I did not open my mouth,
Because it was You who did it.
Remove Your plague from me;
I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.

Which is not to say I agree or disagree with what they're praying about or what they manifest or what they may think they're doing. I don't know anything about them.

Dove, water, fire. Similies in scripture. Figures by which we might somehow grasp the infinite. Differences from one to the other, as you noted.

Cause the holy spirit is likened to water pretty plainly (something i received)
as opposed to their fire (as they received)

Well we know that anything not according to Gods will, even though it may seem like a good idea to worship God in some way, if it's not done in his will you will get 'burned' hehehehe

Ok but really that verse reminds me of the two that died in Acts because they were lieing and the Apostle perceived they were not true

For that story, do a study in Torah on vows and God's holy property. You'll find a totally different reason behind what happened. Lyiing (with the exception of being a false witnes at a capital trial) never had a death penalty.
