• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Communion with the Lord Jesus daily is a good way to be kept from all trouble, and encouraging to the soul. Let me suggest also the reading at the site: biblecounsel.net to learn more of what God intends for His testimony in the world. I find it very helpful.

I have had companionship with Christ for many years, I was disheartened as I was so lonely and God was not helping me. Needless to say I back slid. I am still in the same place but I have found that as I have got older, more things slip into place. I too would be interested in knowing if anyone has really found there purpose in life. I don't believe there is a purpose that provides one with motivation enough to be so dedicated to it.

I think it is a dream.

Yes, things do seem to "slip into place", as we look to the Lord daily. Is not our purpose as a "child of God" to be faithful to God and love His beloved Son; and to keep His Word fully --"rightly dividing the Word of Truth"? Should we not do as instructed and "love your neighbor" --those one comes across; and should we not be in communion with our Lord daily --2 Cor. 10:5? Does that about sum it up?

Surely that should satisfy us and keep us going forward, 'til the Lord shows us something else He wants us to do?

Yes I agree but I was answering the plea of the message post. She seemed convinced that God would provide her with a purpose. I guess the best place to start is how you say to start on the right footing. And just see if something happens from that. It may not though.

What do I do with sins that are not forgiven by others? Am I too face the curse of that forever?

We cannot very well change anyone, and if we know we are forgiven by God all will be well: First as receiving and being devoted to the Lord Jesus in our heart for salvation, then knowing as in 1 John 1:2-3 and John 8, that God forgives a truly repentant soul and will restore that one.

Living a godly life with a positive spirit, smiling and showing goodwill to all we meet, is the best way to relate to others, and whether one speaks or not it will show goodwill, I see. Those who might have bad feelings about us might see something of the Spirit of God in the real Christian and eventually be accepting at least of that one.
