Here's a tip I got from my cousin on how to find good bands that you never hear about...when you buy a cd, look to the "thank you's" in the sleeve and you'll usually find lists of bands that they know. It's a great way to hear great music you normally would not have heard.

happy new band hunting

Band websites are always a good gold mine as well; many times they'll list bands that they loved or have influenced them. Speaking of websites, the website I've used most often to find new bands is www.allmusic.com. An awesome resource.

That is a cool site Nadroj! I like how they say who influenced who.

I know, it's really quite wonderful. They have separate sections for every style of music you could think of (and some that you couldn't ;) ) with essays, important artists and albums, and related genres. Not to mention complete bios and discographies (including bootlegs) of practically every band that ever existed. It's probably my favorite site on the net.......

...........except for CF of course ;)
