  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow... I never expected this...

Most of you know that my husband left me about a year ago and refused to divorce me. He's been hiding ever since. Well, he called today out of the blue, and gave me his address to serve him with divorce papers. I don't know what to think of this or what to say. I feel like I've been waiting for this for so long and he's been arguing it so hard and now I wonder what his motive is for doing such a thing. I'm really worried about it being some kind of set-up for something. I never imagined being anything but happy when he finally gave me the info to move forward and now I'm not as happy as I imagined.

Yeah, I want to say congratulations but then again... having to go through the process I'm sure will only bring up past pains...

Anyway, I know you suspect he has an ulterior motive but what if he doesn't?

If he dosen't, then God has worked through him and he is now prepared to give up a life we never really had. I had been praying to God to soften his heart so he could stop sinning the way he was. I am hoping God has done this but I am prepared for the worst. It just dosen't make sense when eh's been saying for so long that he plans on staying married to me for the rest of his life because he dosen't believe in divorce (but yet thinks that it's ok to have relationsips with other women when he's married to me). And now out of the blue he gives me the address. I mean I've argued with him via email for the past year to give it to me... I don't get it at all and I don't really want to know if he's met and planning on marrying someone else because I would only feel bad for her.

First, let me say HOW HAPPY I AM FOR YOU! I know the struggles you've been thru and the pain. And I've seen how in the past few weeks you have really come out and tried to be social again and you've been doing a great job at it.

Second, Do you want the divorce? If you do, serve him the papers and see what transpires.

When I was separate a friend of mine showed me their signed divorce papers and it was shocking, it hurt, it was like- WOW!!
Maybe when he sees them he might reconsider.

You have a tough decision to make and I will keep you in my prayers for God's guidance and widsom.
