Hello all my CF friends!
Last night after driving a gruelling 11 hour day (massive traffic, many tolls, and getting lost twice) we finally arrived in Newport, Rhode Island.
We travelled over 5000 miles, went through 18 states (including Washington, D.C.) and had one child vomit every time we started another leg of the trip, spent wayyyy too much money on gas for 2 vehicles, went to 7 National Parks and met some really kind and awesome people along the way not to mention we caught up with family and friends!
It was a really great trip with no problems other than our child vomiting.
Our last big part of the trip was D.C.. We went to the Smithsonian (Air & Space and Native American musuems) as well as the Lincoln Memorial, Korean & Vietnam memorials and we got to go up and inside the Washington memorial which was wayyy cool.
We are staying on the naval base for a month until we get into a house. I will be meeting with the real estate agent tomorrow to get busy looking for a house to buy or rent (we aren't sure what we are doing yet).
Thanks for the many prayers and kind thoughts along our way. It is nice to be finally stopped and no more driving. Our room on base does not have Wi-Fi internet, so we will be using the library computers. I may not log on every day, but will when I can.
My bipolar has run the gamet of up and down. This last week I was running close to bottoming out, but now we are here, I am in hopes I will level out. My mind is racing of all that needs to be done, but I feel really beat up and exhausted from all the traffic, people and places and no quiet space for me to unwind.
I hope you all are well and doing good. I think and wonder of you often. I miss you guys! Pray we get into a house ASAP.
Also, keep my daughter in your prayers too. She has been radically manic and we know it is because of our trip and her being out of a schedule.
Anyway, I better run. Kids are wanting to see downtown Newport.
Holding on to the good right now... bye for now!
Still and always at heart... Alaskamomma
