In a fighting game is a character with weak attacks but has high speed better than a Character with strong attacks but is slow?

It depends on what character you get used to and learn ...... as long as the designers did their job making sure the characters are balanced, a good player can win with anyone.

I personally like fast guys.I know what Im doing when I play with them but hey whatever your style go for it and have fun trying to master your style.

Most fightering games are not designed with balance. You have different levels of skill for each one. For one thing, they don't have time to test it all out to tweak every player. Another reason, is they have different diffuculty levels, for more challenging fights.SAPguy said:

I got my start in competition through Street Fighter 2 Turbo, on the snes.
Eventually playing MK,2,3,ult, and becoming one of the best MK2,and 3 fighters in the nation.
I traveled to 2 different Soul Caliber tournys, and took 2nd both times, lossing to the same guy both times, barely!!!! arrrggg.

That's why I said "as long as the designers did their job" LOL. Doesn't mean that is the way it works.
My personal preference is a little bit faster character .... doesn't need to be the fastest.

I love it when I get perfect kills on mortal kombat.but I really like soul caliber something like that, this guy beat me in the arcade so quick ,I payed to play not to get my butt whopped and have to pay somemore tokens, He was playing that girl with a whop thats a sword broken up in pieces.

I dunno... I would definately say the faster characters.. maybe not always the FASTEST (cuz they are usually too weak) but the faster characters are probably always the best.. I've been to some tournys and stuff, and the guys who win never have the big lumbering jock... cuz with the speed u can get in with combos and get back out and stuff... so ya, it's the faster characters. Besides they're more fun to play anyway.

Fast and quick characters have always suited me best. and of course i try to learn there more powerful moves and combos so as to make them seem more powerful then they really are hehehe.
