  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was diagnosed with it a few years ago, but I never agreed with the diagnosis, I know there was something else wrong. The doctors didn't know what and just pinned the fibromyalgia logo on me. After 6 months I had my official diagnosis, rheumatoid arthritis.

I am very thankful that I have responded to medical treatment as well as I have. My doctor even confessed that he is amazed that I got back all of my mobility ( I was in HORRIBLE shape). He thought I would end up with some permanent disability. I give the credit to God, and for all the prayers that were sent His way on my behalf.

Thankfully my health has been really good lately. Was finally able to move out of home. But I still do have the odd way where I have just no energy, or am in more than ordinary levels of pain. Today seems to be one of those days, but that could just be that its colder and wetter than normal. Well thats what im hoping it is. Still, life is good. :D

Oh, I know what you mean about cold and wet! I can often predict weather depending on how my body feels.

Do you have a good mattress to sleep on at night? I've been amazed at how much better I wake up on the nice mattress we bought. Also, as simple as it might seem, a good pair of shoes has helped me a lot.

I'm glad you have a positive outlook. That is essential when living with a chronic pain condition.

Yeah I got a good bed a couple of years ago. That has helped a lot.
Yeah the positive outlook is so important. My nerves seem to be directly hardwired to my stomach. If I feel upset, or nervous, or angry then it basically screws up my stomach. Which is not a good thing. You learn real quickly to level out your emotions.
Most of the time with the FM I just act like a big kid, thats my coping mechanism. Unfortunately it has the drawback of having everyone just think your not a serious person. They dont see it for the mask that it is.

I have this also. I suffer constantly everyday every minute every second.
I have no medical insurance so I can't go back to the doctor.
I use to take vioxx which did help some. If I walk even just to go into a store for 10 minutes I can't walk or I am just in tears. I go to the chiropractor when I can and adjusments help a lot for a few days. My daughter will massage my back at night also so that I can sleep. I feel like I am about 99 yrs old and I am not even 50!
I know that God is going to heal me and I trust him to do that in his time.
SOmetimes I get real depressed and wonder why he hasn't healed me but like I said I know that one day he will heal me completely. Until then I just pray for the strength to keep going on.

Yeah, I havent had one of those days for a long time, but there is the occasional day when I feel like an old man. Not a nice feeling. Especially when as far as what people can see, I look quite fit and strong. They just dont understand what it does to you. Doesnt matter how much working out I do, weights, walking, whatever, it doesnt improve my stamina very much. Still get the muscle cramps, the low endurance. It does improve overall strength though, which is a good thing. With FM its almost literally, no pain no gain. You will always be living with pain. But the more exercise you do the better off you will be. Sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.

Yeah I know people that take a lot of supplements, ones that help with all sorts of aspects to the problem. The problem for me taking supplements is that they are very expensive, and as much as I would love to be able to take them, I just cant. So I get by as best I can. Dont take pain killers except on the worst of days, or a very bad headache. Since when I do take pain killers, I have to take so many for them to work well, that im verging on an overdose. Which is definitely not a good thing.
