  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Who in their right mind except a real Christian would want to know more about the suffering of Christ?

Phil. 3:9-11 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Jesus practically guarantees suffering for everyone. Better to suffer His Way for the Gospel's Sake, in this evil wicked sinful world that is controlled by the god of this world today,
than later (eternally!? or otherwise even temporally ) for rejecting Him !

This verse comes to mind and I think is missed by many Christians.

2Tim. 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

You can't take credit for some thing if it is clear you are not the one doing it. I think our weakness in matters gives God the opportunity to show His power.

Paul endured insults and persecution. He found that Gods strength was made perfect in such things. We too can learn the value of these things.

Yes. I believe when we endure things like insults we can experience Gods love, and His peace.

2Cor. 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Romans 5:3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Everyone should want to know more about the suffering of Jesus Christ. As long as we live in this world, we must suffer. No one escapes suffering, but do you suffer well? That is the question. No one bears his sufferings well if he is ignorant of the sufferings of Jesus Christ. In the sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary, we consider the first mystery of His sorrow and anguish in the Garden of Olives and see a perfect example of submission to the Divine Will, so that we can say with Him: "Not my will, but Thine, be done." Next, we consider His bloody Scourging, His cruel crowning with thorns, His carrying His Cross, and finally, His Crucifixion and death. In each one we have a perfect example to follow in the daily sufferings of life. For those who suffer well, their sufferings produce love of God, or charity in the soul and salvation in the life to come.

Who in their right mind would not want to know more about the suffering of Christ?
