How long have you been feeling like this? Is there a specific reason for it?

I'd try going off on my own, maybe to where I can be in nature and just relax. Exercise also helps to clear your head.

my thoughts exactly....take a long walk and get away from the 'usual'. It really does help.

I can relate too...I've been feeling downright bipolar lately and it's creeping me out. I need to take some time away and clear my head of alll the clutter from the madness of life....

Unless you're on a college campus...I made that mistake in April when I was struggling over whether I should go stag to a dance or not, because I've had problems whenever I see couples. And that evening when I went for a walk to clear my head, it seemed that every single couple on campus was out holding hands or cuddling on benches.

Not a good evening/night for me. Not at all.

But it can work...just be careful where you walk.

I can TOTALLY relate to this too! Yeah...be careful where you walk. I have some places that I prefer not to walk too pretty much for the same reason. Sometimes when I 'feel the need to getaway' it seems to be caused by some sort of heartbreak/heartache/whatever and the LAST thing I want to see is happy couples or whatever. Actually....anymore that's the last thing I want to see even when I'm in a good mood.

i write, or play the piano, or just grab my ipod and zone out for a few hours listening to music. walking is a good way to clear your head too.

these are good ideas too. Sometimes I wish I had a piano. I'd probably give myself carpal tunnel! haha (eh...pretty much the same risk as being on here...^_^)

I sometimes play the piano too when I'm down. I remember the day I came home from college after graduating this May, I was really really depressed about leaving all my close friends and hardly ever seeing them again (except when I go back to visit, but the school's 6 hours away). I played the piano part of Gustav Mahler's piano quartet, which is in A minor and is really bleak and dark. Can't remember if it made me feel better or not.

yea I'd wonder how long you've been feeling like this.

If it's just an occasional bad feeling, I usually just play music. Whatever fits the mood. Bad feelings eventually subside after a while or I fall asleep. That or I just "zone out" watching TV.

Being depressed...Well...that's another story... That's usually when I don't feel like doing anything, which is why I ask how long it's been.

Whenever I am faced with such a situation I keep repeating under my breath - "S**t happens, S**t happens ...." and try to ignore it lol :p
