  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, there is a person who caused great harm to my family and I went on to social media to block that person and I'm worried I lusted after this person. On social media you have to look at the profile pictures to make sure that is the right person you're blocking so I looked for one split second and looked at her photo (photo was kind of small), problem is when I looked, I saw her chest (everything was covered) and I freaked out. Also, when I was about to block this person, I messed up and my finger was close to the friend button, but I didn't hit it and I blocked this person. Will God forgive me? Should I tell my family this? I feel ashamed.

I'm worried I lusted after this person.

There are several places in the NT where those who are going to hell are listed. They are murders, slave trader, adulters etc but one sinner is not mention and that is those who have lusted after a girl.

Confess your sins to God and ask him for the faith to believe that he has forgiven you. When guilt brings these thoughts back praise God for the fact you have been forgiven these sins etc.

well, if you feel led to ask forgiveness from God you should do so and He will forgive you. Beyond that I'd write it off to a bad experience unless somehow your family knows about it and was offended by it then yes you would need to ask for their forgiveness.

God Bless.

You have nothing to be ashamed of, as a human we will occasionally fall. Repent (however that is done in your tradition/denomination) and move on with God's forgiveness and try to do better in the future.
