Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
This verse in Exodus 14:13 assures Gods people that howmuchever strong their enemies may seem to be and though they may seem to be a force who can never be defeated, overcome or gotten rid of, that God will fight for them and destroy them forever from the face of the earth. The battle is purely Gods not ours. We just have to follow his instructions for this to happen. The same assurance was given to Jehoshapat , as we see in II Chron 20:15, 17. In both these situations, Gods promise came in the face of the terror which his people faced at the hands of their enemies. Israel was terrorstricken in the face of their enemies . It seemed that all that God had assured them so far and that all Gods instructions which they had followed, hoping for a deliverance , were all worthless and pure lies. It seemed that they were doomed to fall prey to their enemies and their wicked strategies. God had brought them to this position to display his power on behalf of his people and to destroy their oppressors forever. He also wanted to increase their faith in him. In todays scenario also, if any believer is facing a similar situation, having been brought to it after following Gods instructions, dont panic. Maybe the enemy forces are close behind, hoping to make you an easy prey and maybe there is no way to escape, but God will open a way in the most impossible circumstances and cause the complete destruction of your enemies.
