Not that I am encouraging disobediance, but you are 19.

I am not interested in the movie at all.

True but the fact that my parents are paying for my college and stuff. And if they ever found out they would probably kick me out of the house.

I love horror movies, and I have seen the majority of them over the past 20 years.
But this one was terrible. I can't believe it actually made the theaters.
I have only cut off 3 or 4 movies in my life, and this was one of them.
The critics, and audience slammed it as a bad movie.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original in new wide screen mode)
Halloween (first one only)
Scream (the first one only)
The Ring (american version)

Now those movies are worth getting kicked out of the house for. :p
As well as many others. Including "The Others".
In fact The Others is something I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind you seeing.
Its not gruesome at all, nor violent, but super creepy.

Wow you have some strict parents.
The movie wasnt good at all.
What probably happened was this.
Her parents saw the movie, and said "That movie is so terrible, that if I ever catch you watching it, you will be kicked out of the house!"

I suppose I cannot say anything else without coming across as the jaded twenty-something-working-my-own-way-thru-school-totally-envious-of-girls-like-you-young-woman. :p

Getting kicked out of the house over a movie is pretty extreme. Perhaps you and I should start a thread sharing shockingly strict parent stories. Not long from now, I gather you will completely appreciate the accountability and responsibility you have learned at the meager expense of missing a few horror flicks and the like.

I saw it, and I can tell you that it's one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The premise has been done before, and the director uses all kinds of cheap tricks to make it scary. For example, it's always dark in the film. I began to wonder if the residents had just forgotten to pay their electric bills because you never see a light turned on in the whole movie. The acting is awful and the story is totally lame. Not scary at all. It sucks hard, so don't get yourself worried over it. Your parents are wise.

Fear Dot Com was not that good. I found it rather boring. There really wasn't very much torture or anything...it's just a crappy story glossed over with special effects. that's all. Maybe by "torture", your parents meant it was TORTURE to watch the movie.

horror movies aren't ever really that good. The only one that really even 'scared' me was Evil Dead 2....and Army of Darkness was WAY too funny to be an evil dead movie.

but anyway, i saw Fear Dot Com on Hbo awhile back....i lost interest within the first ten minutes or so. But what i saw.....was ****

you're parents are wise indeed....
either that or they really love you enough to spare you the pain of seeing such a grotesque failure of a theatrical feature.
