Fear can lead to depression, with young people fear of what other people may think especially, they felt powerless.
Someone said to me they were depressed cos
"
. . .I can't motivate myself, and am afraid of losing people I'm close to/being alone. . . ."
Living a life motivated by fear of what other people may say about you can lead to depression - find what makes you happy!
That's the point of life!!
(And that will make people want to be with you!)
True friends will stick by you, forget the rest!
One good friend is better trhan many of the fair-weather variety
Seems to me the Moody Blues were making this point in Ride MY see-saw . . .
(though I think many in that era saw drugs rather than God as the way out)
. . .
I worked like a slave for years,
Sweat so hard just to end my fears.
Not to end my life a poor man,
But by now, I know I should have run.
Run, run my last race,
Take my place
Have this number
Of mine.
Run, run like a fire,
Don't you run in
In the lanes
Run for time.
Left school with a first class pass,
Started work but as second class.
School taught one and one is two.
But right now, that answer just ain't true.
Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah
My world is spinning around,
Everything is lost that I found.
People run, come ride with me,
Let's find another place that's free.
Ride, ride my see-saw,
Take this place
On this trip
Just for me. . . .
