FBI director says white supremacy is a 'persistent, pervasive threat' to the US
FBI Director Christopher Wray said Thursday that white supremacy presents a "persistent" and "pervasive" threat to the United States, breaking from President Donald Trump, who has sidestepped questions of whether white nationalists present a growing problem.

"The danger. I think, of white supremacists, violent extremism or another kind of extremism is of course significant," Wray said at a House hearing. "We assess that it is a persistent, pervasive threat. We tackle it both through our joint terrorism task forces on the domestic terrorism side as well as through our civil rights program on the civil side through hate crime enforcement."

Oh so scary! A whole 1% of the population are white supremacy people. Such terrifying numbers lol. My friends are more worried about the fact that over 90% of blacks killed are because of other black men.

To be fair CNN is hardly a good news source. Just part of a bigger media issue where biased news groups try to scare people into thinking things are far worse than they really are. Sure, maybe there are higher racial tensions since Trump won. But its still a minority of people. And really has nothing to do with Trump mind you.

Hard core white supremacists are indeed a tiny minority but there is also a large minority who tend that way. Trump's words and actions tend to give a validity to those views and the haters have responded. Even during the 2016 campaign the incidents were piling up with increasing frequency. President Trump has not recognized this nor has he in any way responded forcefully to speak against it. If he did so he would risk losing a part of his base.

Most people do not commit crimes, yet we spend money on law enforcement and counter-terrorism. That is a non-argument. Moreover, most crime is intraracial, so pointing out something about black people is irrelevant. White supremacy and the terrorism borne out of white supremacy has been on the rise. If you want to talk about about other forms of crime, you are free to create another subject rather than falling back to the racial trope of attacking black people because white supremacy is becoming an increasing issue in the United States. Yeah... stay on topic.

Ad hominem against the news source? Are you arguing that what the FBI director said was inaccurate?

And here is why such attacks make no sense...

If you do a little snooping you will find the media has claimed that "BOTH" 2016 presidential candidates received campaign contributions form white supremacy groups.

That does not surprise me either.

Let's be honest a small minority if people can make a big impact on a nation. Take a look at what the lgbtq community has accomplished as a small minority.

I think the real difference though is the vast majority of of white Americans utterly reject white supremacists and their ideas. We always will.
