So what are everyone's favourite bands? Mine are Skillet, Nickelback and Daughtry.

as for mine... id say coldplay, thelonelyisland, beatles, john lenon, and elton john.

Wow!!!!! that is an awesome band!! reminds me of nirvana too and love the guitar and the instruments tied all togetherThey were a truly influential band- they invented post-rock practically... I mean, Talk Talk did sort of formulate the new genre, but Slint and Godspeed You! Black Emperor perfected the genre. What's characteristic about Slint, and all post-rock, is the amount of instrumentation used and the very heavy reliance upon dynamics.
Lol, I never got into Nirvana much... but I do know that Earth collaborated with Cobain while he was around. Slint broke up in '91 though, so they're an old band.
