The opening of Uncharted 2 gets my vote. Obviously the game flashes back and explains this scene as the game progresses but it certainly gets your attention right from the start.

I second Uncharted 2. I was just amazed at how real it all looked. Although, must admit, the bosses in the game make it very hard!

Great choice. I always loved that intro and the music.

For me it's a hard choice. So many great intros for 8 and 16 Bit RPG's to choose from. Whether it's Shining Force I or II on the Sega Genesis, or Chrono Trigger on the SNES.

I'll throw out both Bioshock and Xenoblade for both the opening scenes/cinematics, but my favorite would be Resident Evil 4.
