What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
All of us have certain Bible verses that speak close to our heart. Or maybe one verse speaks to you more at a certain time in life; depending on your circumstance or need at that time. Is there a specific Bible verse that has gotten you through a difficult time in life?
My favorite verse comes from the Gospel of John. It has spoken to me in times of trouble and doubt. And it has encouraged me to stand firm in my beliefs and keep going forward. I was born disabled; with no arms or legs. So, why this is my favorite Bible verse is pretty obvious. It gives me my answer to the question, "Why?"

John 1; 1-5 (NLT)
1As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. 2"Teacher," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?"
3"It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him. 4All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end. 5But while I am still here in the world, I am the light of the world."

Matthew 6:34 (New International Version)

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Don't worry Allison. I believe God has something good instored for you in Heaven and has good plans for you down here on earth ;)

Hi!
Thank you for your post.
I just wanted to let you know, I am not worried at all! All I meant by this verse giving me the answer Why....is that it speaks directly to the reason I was born the way I am. And I accept that with out any worry!
Thanks again and Blessings,
Allison

Guess my favorite verse is Isaiah 53 vs 6;

"All we like sheep have gone astray we have all turned to our own way and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all"

Suppose that it is a very comforting verse to me, and it tells me of what He did for me.

Oh by the way huyhoa87 welcome to CF. .

This was one of the first verses that stood out to me, when I started reading the Bible. (It appears in similar forms several times in scripture, which perhaps helped me remember it.;))

I like many other verses too .. but this is the one I fall back onto when I am in need:

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps with joy and I will give thanks to him in song. (Psalm 28:7)
God bless.
