CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Braveheart kicks bum
Pretty much anything by Thomas Newman (especially American Beauty)
Danny Elfman's stuff is tops (pretty much any Tim Burton flick such as Batman, Sleepy Hollow etc)
Hans Zimmer does everything from decidedly average to awesome (Gladiator for example)
Don Davis' score for the first Matrix was unbelievably good, I recommend listening to the Score/Don Davis Commentary track on the DVD

Any of Michael Kamen's films including Highlander, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Band of Brothers, ect.
Howard Shore for his work in the Lord of the Rings movies. Probably my #2 favorite film scores of all time. So perfectly done.
The Braveheart soundtrack was amazing as well.

Anything by Hans Zimmer. That guy is amazing. He did the scores for Gladiator, the Rock, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Last Samurai, Black Hawk Down. My favorite is the score from the scene in Gladiator where Maximus is leading the cavalry charge against the Germanic horde. Amazing. Howard Shore's score for Fellowship of the Ring rocks too.

Star Wars is my favorite. As for the level of the score compared to others... Johnny Williams is just on a level of his own.

Star Trek movies usually have great scores, the music from PBS's "The Civil War" & "The Great War & The Shaping Of The Twentieth Century" were five star....

"The Thin Red Line" score by Hans Zimmer is amazing, beautifully haunting. One of the songs was used in all the trailers for "Pearl Harbor." It's really the only film score I've ever bought and listened to on a regular basis. It's great to listen to late at night while painting or writing.
