  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Favorite Sacraments

Just crossed my mind as I was typing my last post; "Do any of you have a favorite sacrament or sacraments"? And why?

My favorite sacraments began with my conversion, when my son and i received our Sacrament of Baptism,Confirmation , and First Communion all at the same time. It was the beginning of the "first day of a wonderful journey in our lives".

But,now after being a Catholic for 15+ years, my favorite sacrament is the "Sacrament of Reconciliation". The ride home after confession is the most wonderful ride in the world, I fell so cleansed, the great rock was lifted , and I feel so in touch with God. And at this point in my life , that is the most important thing for me.

Since the Sacraments impart God's grace, I'd be hard pressed to figure out which ones I enjoy the most, especially since I don't deserve the grace that God imparts to me through these vehicles. However, what I can say is that there are two which have had profound changes in my life that I have recognized immediately and am grateful for.

The first is obviously the Eucharist, the other is the sacrament of Reconciliation (which I wrote an "article" on).

All of the sacraments are necessary. Obviously we need to receive Baptism in order to receive the others. They are all immeasurabily wonderful. However, the Eucharist is the true Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord, Jesus Christ! There is nothing I know of that compare to the sublime experience of receiving the Most Holy Eucharist.

Hello Lady Grace,
My 8 year old daughter will be receiving the Sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion this Easter Vigil.
