  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My all time favorite is You've Got Mail. Gotta love the chemistry between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan! :)
I'm going to get it next time I go to the video shop. I've heard good reviews of it, and Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors

This is an interesting thread, I would like to know of some more good romantic comedies :)

Well, that's a good question. I'm a guy. Can I (legally) respond?
Meg and Tom, (2) Sleepless in Seatle and You've got mail.
But maybe "Notting Hill."
Hmmm, well I don't know which should win. There is also "An Affair to Remember."
For years I loved "Father Goose," with Cary Grant.

Kate and Leopold. I just thought it was really cute with humerous parts in it.

However, the greatest of the great, and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, is The Princess Bride. That movie is just plain amazing. It's funny, sweet and about true love! It's just a great movie.

well...being a guy...romantic comedies (aka chick flicks) are not my favorite genre. But every now and then one comes along that I can tolerate. A couple that I don't mind:

Sweet Home Alabama
Bridget Jone's Diary
While You were Sleeping

I loved "13 going on thirty" it brought back alot of memories and just made me feel really good. I still think it was one of last years best movies.

I also like "While You were Sleeping", "Pretty Woman", "Just Married", and "How to lose a guy in 10 days"

Have all, all are fabulous!
