For me it is like coming into the private presence of Jehovah God. Unlike home it seems when you come together for this perpose to worship that all 'other' distractions vanish and as you pray you sense that GOD is sitting by you. Hard to explain but alomort like it is you and HIM only.

I love the prayer. I wish we did more of it. When Christians pray intently as a body, it has an impact on me that cannot be reproduced or imitated. It's that "spiritual experience" that everyone is always looking for.

I wish I went to a church where prayer is emphasized...at my church it's minimalized, something done because we're supposed to do it. At my old church, we spent long times in prayer at every service. Sometimes the prayer time lasted an hour or more all by itself!

At one Quaker meeting I went to for prayer meeting, the presence of God was so strong that it made us all shiver. Everyone in the room, even the unbelievers, could feel His presence. That night, everyone we prayed for was healed, even a sick cat. It was an amazing time because we prayed from our hearts with the absolute knowledge that God was among us and cared about every word we were saying.
