CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't listen to heavy metal anymore but if you want to talk about talent then pay some respect to the recently deceased "Dimebag Darrell" from Pantera.
Pantera used to be my life and I have a Pantera tattoo on my arm.
He took underground metal to new heights and there are so many newer bands that rip off his riffs or tweak them a little bit and make them their own.
Unfortuneately he died without Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.
That should be a wakeup call for those Christians who have unsaved metal head friends that haven't accepted salvation and need to hear from someone they can trust so that they don't feel as if you are pushing Christianity on them but are trying to get through to them out of the compassion of your heart. Pray for wisdom and insight on how to witness to metal heads.
Good luck in your walk with Jesus.

As someone above mentioned this is a thread about favourite guitarists. Do we need the whole bible thumping thing on this thread? Can't we just enjoy the music?

I agree that it's hard to believe no mention of Gilmour and Page. Gilmour was voted greatest guitar player by an online poll of musicians. I think the best newer guitar player is Adam Jones of Tool. I can't think of the guy's name in Iced Earth but he is very talented. Roy Z of Maiden/Dickinson. Zakk Wylde is good too. The Dimebag comment, I'm pretty sure that Dimebag was saved. Didn't he write the Pantera song that says, "Meeting God your own way, the right way"?
