What cardio do you like? Running, swimming, biking, skating, step, hi-lo, kickbox, heavy bag box?

What toning ex's are your favorite? Calves, situps, lunges? pushups?

I do all of the cardio stuff above. I made a promise to my dad I wouldn't learn to surf. I'm kind of afraid of skiing and horseback riding. Although horseback at a low pace is okay.

My stomach and legs are my favorite toning exercises.

Eliptacle Machine
That thing makes me dizzy. There's no "bite" to it. Like with running, there's the pounding, and with the bike, you can feel it. I don't even do step aerobics that long before I start doing hi-lo floor aerobics to add to it because it pounds. Of course people do the eliptical for that reason alot, because alot of them are runners and bikers and they need to rest their legs, or recurring injuries.

Aw, No surfing? :(
I know it really bothers me sometimes. I am a very good swimmer, and can do all the strokes pretty well including fly, plus the lifesaving ones. The idea of soaking in salt ocean water with sun streaming down on me is really really mind-altering in itself. I'm real afraid of sharks though I admit. I swim in lake water now or at the gym. My dad's afraid I'll fall on the board and hurt myself. Like hit in the head. When I lived next to Atlantic City, I used to watch the surfers in wetsuits on Brigantine beach. I thought of myself as their lifeguard since they were usually there with a friend but sometimes alone and absorbed in their activity. They got beach wolves there actually. You can see their dark siloquette on the dunes. One time a little baby wolf came around by my car. They don't bother you though. If I was laid out and hurt and dying or bleeding I'm sure they'd come running though. I think its the same way with the sharks too, and I could get over that fear, but I have to admit I'm afraid of getting banged with the board or dragged out in an undertow or something.

I used to be a runner. The eliptacle machine is just running without jarring my joints and bones.

I thought it was funny that your dad is the one that is afraid of you surfing. Only because my Dad's a surfer.

About the Dad excuse: There comes a time when you have to decide if you're willing to live with regrets to quell someone elses fears...or have the courage to live your own life.

If you get the nerve to try it, start with a long board. Seriously...it's almost impossible to fall off of one once you hit the white water. You're a good swimmer....so it should be a piece of cake for you.

Just do it Sunbeam. Living with regrets is waste of time. ;)
