What is your fave Christian song(s)? Can be a hymn or contemporary worship song. If you like, you can tell us why this song is special to you, but that's not necessary. Sometimes we don't know...we just like it!!!

(Please only post title or a line or two due to copyright issues! Thanks.)

Oh, and I'll start~~~ "I Could Sing of His Love Forever" by Delirious (was one of my son's favorite songs)

Hymn by Jars of Clay.

You can listen here - http://www.last.fm/music/Jars+of+Clay/_/Hymn
and please do. It is beautiful.

Delirious is a favorite of mine, songs such as What A Friend I've Found and What Is This Thing Called Love are soul moving and the latter is foot moving, too! I actually learned to two step to that song.
Great idea for a sharing thread, KayKay! :wave:

I'll have to listen to that one when I can access speakers, Claire. My work computer doesn't have any. I'm at home now but my dh has gone to bed. So I have to keep it down....!

I like a lot of Jason Upton's music. Favorites of his~~ " I Will Wait For You." or "Dear John"

one of my favorites is "older"

Fairest Lord Jesus

Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature,
O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown. . . . .

Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.

Wow, how do you narrow it down to just one?! I love so many of them . . and I think this will become a favorite thread of mine! :)

My current favorite has to be "Could I" by Kim McMechan (off the "All I Need" album by Vineyard Music Canada) I sooo would love to share the lyrics if I could, they are so comforting and beautiful.

Could I just sit here a while

Know that there's nothing that I need to say
Safe in the knowledge that you know my ways
Love me completely no need to hide a thing

Could I just stay here a while
Letting you melt away all of my fears
I feel your comfort when you are so near
I'll hide myself in this shelter you've made for me

Could I (x2)

Could I just kneel here a while
Doing what I was created to do
Bowing in reverence I long to adore you
Willingly giving all that I can surrender

Could I just rest here a while
Letting you whisper my burdens away
In all of my journeys there's no other place
Where I find refuge strength for my weary heart

Could I (x4)

It's hard to narrow it down, there are many that had special meaning at certain points of my life. I also like "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus" and "It Is Well". "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling".

O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend;
I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide.

O let me feel Thee near me! The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me, around me and within;
But Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin.

O let me hear Thee speaking in accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion, the murmurs of self will.
O speak to reassure me, to hasten or control;
O speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.

O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee
That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be.
And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.

O let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant mine own;
My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone.
O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end;
And then in Heaven receive me, my Saviour and my Friend

I love this hymn (even though musically I prefer most modern songs) - it reminds me of what is at the core of my belief and keeps me going in the right direction

Hi :)

I've started one or 2 threads on this Topic already. Here's one: http://christianforums.com/showthread.php?t=5760680 - Favorite Hymns of PRAISE

And here's "JESUS wants me for a Sunbeam" :angel: : (public-domain)
one of my Favorites :)

  1. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam,
    To shine for Him each day;
    In every way try to please Him,
    At home, at school, at play.
    • Refrain:
      A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
      Jesus wants me for a sunbeam;
      A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
      I’ll be a sunbeam for Him.
  2. Jesus wants me to be loving,
    And kind to all I see;
    Showing how pleasant and happy,
    His little one can be.
  3. I will ask Jesus to help me
    To keep my heart from sin;
    Ever reflecting His goodness,
    And always shine for Him.
  4. I’ll be a sunbeam for Jesus,
    I can if I but try;
    Serving Him moment by moment,
    Then live for Him on high."
