Favorite Anime Fights/Confrontations!!!

I was posting on another thread and thought of an interesting topic...what are your favorite fight scenes (or confrontation scenes if the anime isn't oriented towards fighting such as "Prince of Tennis")??? I'll post my top 5:

1. Gaara vs. Rock Lee (Naruto) - Intense fight scene where you learn a lot about Rock Lee and get even more attached to the lovable Green Beast...then he does his DBZ style powerup as a finisher

2. Ichigo Kurosaki vs. Byakuya Kuchiki (sp?) (Bleach) - AWESOME fight scene where Ichigo releases his Bankai for the 1st time and we are introduced to his ability to partially transform into a Hollow.

3. Ichigo Kurosaki vs. Kenpachi (Bleach) - Where Ichigo confronts his 1st Captain class...a spectacular fight that is made really special by the crazy and battle-hungry antics of Kenpachi.

4. Naruto vs. Neji Hyuga (sp?) (Naruto) - I just love the character of Neji Hyuga and especially love this fight scene where you learn a lot of his background and some of his personality. Just a fight where you get to cheer for the underdog (Naruto) and get your wishes when he beats somebody who is supposed to be worlds away from him in power.

5. Goku vs. Ginyu Force (DBZ) - I'm conflicted over this or the Frieza (sp?) fight...but decided on Ginyu Force b/c the Frieza fight was too long for my tastes even tho that is the appearance of the Super Saiyen. When Goku lands and takes over for Gohan, Krillan, and Vegeta he just has out of this world powers and strength. I was awestruck.

Ichigo vs. Renji-I don't know why I just liked that one
Edward vs. Roy(FMA)- the one in episode 13(??) where Edo did it for his recertification as a State Alchemist.
Roy vs. Furer Bradly(FMA)- I was O_O all durring that fight. Between that and what was going on w/ Edo my head was spinning w/ all the plot details

Naruto vs Sasuke was a good one. Some nice animation and moves. Pretty good representation of the characters fighting styles, which is one place where naruto tends to shine as an anime. Sasuke uses very complex and precise attacks, while Naruto uses raw power and speed.

Vashe vs Monev the Gale was another great fight. It is probably the first time you get a glimpse into what he is truly capable of, and just how much restraint he has.

I'm not an amine expert but I just watched an episode of Hellsing and the fight between Alucard and the vampire Luke was .... intense.

Gaara vs. Naruto - I would have to say that this is one of the best fight scenes in any anime I've ever seen. The tactfulness with which Naruto uses his jutsu is incredible. This fight scene did nothing but reinforce my fanboyness of the series.

Honestly I'm not a big inuyasha fan. I used to watch if frequently, but the serious just died IMO. The fights scenes weren't impressive either. Even the most mundane fights in Naruto were better, and the "epic" ones make inuyasha look very dated. As I mentioned before, Naruto does one thing very well that I like. It has a character focus on a style or aspect during their battles and stick to it, showing the advantages/disadvantages.

Shikamaru is quick thinking, but his hesitation can cost him dearly if the enemy gets the jump on him. He also lacks raw power.

Negi has sight and precision, but lacks any type of ranged assault.

Naruto has strength, speed, and above all else power, but he lacks efficiency and precision.

Sasuke has precision and sight, much like negi, but without his weakness to range. His weakness is more mental, in that he allows ambition and emotion to over take him.

Gaara is the embodiment of defense. He's not shabby on the offense either. But he lacks endurance, he burns out quickly.

Rock Lee is extremely fast, strong, and has incredible endurance but has no illusions or ranged attacks.

Sakura lacks power, but has extensive knowledge and uses every move with maximum efficiency.


While Naruto might not be the best of anime out there, it does do this one thing, and does it well.

definitely some scenes in Naruto, but man.. I can't really pinpoint any as there're so many.

In 'Hunter x Hunter', Gon against Hisoka.

In 'Full Metal Alchemist', Edward against that man in Dante's mansion.

I liked the Gaara vs. Sasuke fight. And of course the following Naruto vs. Gaara.

Aaaand I also loved the Ichigo vs. Renji (the 2nd time, in Soul Society).

My all-time favorite fight/confrontation has to be between Papillon and Kasuki (sp?), after Papillon has donned his 'elegant outfit'. And they're in the fast food place and the guy like wants to give them free food just so they'll leave.

Oh, and if you didn't know that last fight..tis from Busou Renkin. (see my thread)

Yeah, when Ichigo fist hits Kenpachi and his hand is bleeding, Ichigo is all like: "Why isn't he cut!? and why is MY hand bleeding!?"

Cloud vs Sephiroth
Best one. Watch this one if nothing else.


And also, Sakura lacks power? Have you seen her? She trained under Tsunade and she can create earthquakes by punching the ground.
