Would any man feel led to be a fasting accountability partner?

I have been convicted of fasting for a while and since I have never done it longer than a meal or two, it would be a blessing to have someone to ask questions and look for encouragement, yet not seeking glory from fellow man.

I am starting a fast Tuesday the 1st for 21 days. I myself, being this the first time i am fasting, have chosen a Daniel fast. If all goes well this year, i plan to do a more in depth fast next year. I however, am willing to help you through yours. I am a very spiritual individual and i give great advice and encouragement. PM me if you are interested my brother.

I have been convicted of fasting for a while and since I have never done it longer than a meal or two, it would be a blessing to have someone to ask questions and look for encouragement, yet not seeking glory from fellow man.

I think you should just fast as the Holy Spirit leads you and gives you strength, else you can miss out on the important benefit of the fast. Although fasting in many cases has to do with the abstinence of food for a period of time, what is important is the motive behind the fast.

When you look at the Daniel fast, the Jesus fast and that of other prophets and kings in the Bible like David, they were compelled to fast by one thing or the other.

You can either decide to fast becuase you have a need or you need more of God's presence and power or maybe you are believing God for someone to be delivered or any other reason that is within the will of God.

When you have a goal for fasting, then that is what becomes your driving force as to how long and how many meals you want to skip etc. It provides focus and when ou encounter God, He can decide to lead your focus to another direction in accordance to His purpose.

But if you are only looking at it for the number of days and how many hours you spend, then your mind will be on the time and not on why you are seeking God's face.

Alternatively, you can decide to fast with a group if you are keen on fasting for long. So over time your body gets used to fasting by yourself.
