Hey Guys, what do you guys think about the song 'Famous One' by Chris Tomlin? I absolutly love it! The lyrics are incredible and the music is awsome. One of the Worship leaders in a band I played for didn't like the lyrics and didn't like calling God 'Famous'. She refused to let us play it. Would you guys agree? I totally love the song and have no problem calling God famous. Opinions?

What's the problem?! Isn't God famous by being praised by all creation?? Would she rather infamous??? I mean yeah ok fame isn't greatly touched on in the Bible with respect to God, although Passion's key verse is about the "fame and renown of" His "name" being our desire... fame's just another word for glory (well in the context of worship and people knowing God... not the presence reference of glory) or renown. I am fine with it... what the word famous does is also bring an ancient perspective into modern lingo... a word like glory or renown could appear slightly foreign to some, and by describing God as THE famous One, it reminds those people that God is famous like famous people are, but that He is greater still...
