falling back in love

Hey,
I used to go to an assembly of God church and loved it but then i fell away from God and i came back to Him but things have never been like they used to. While i was fallen away i destroyed my witness and never got it back. I don't know what to do. I feel like a failure.

father I'm just asking you to restore Tsaxgurl and to let her feel how much you love her no matter what she did & that you totally forgave her. Please show her how to go on, don't let her feel so frustrated anymore but help her totally trust in you and carry her thru this. Please strengthen her and fill her heart with Your love, spirit, joy and peace again. I know you're always the same and still have an awesome plan for Tsaxgurl's life. Please let her understand what she needs to. In Jesus' name. Amen

God has forgiven you and now you need to forgive yourself.  God loves you very much and you are of great value to Him.  You need to forget those things which are behind and press onward.  God has something for you so look up!  You can't see the sun with your head to the ground.  What you are feeling is guilt.  You are no longer guilty!  Live for God and you will have a witness...a new one.  And remember we walk by faith, not by sight.  You can't rely on feelings because feelings can deceive us but faith never will.

I know how you feel Tsaxgurl. I have been there many times. Even when I have fallen away from God, I still had Him in my mind. His spirit bears witness with mine. I am thankful God is big enough to forgive me. He is just as big to forgive you.
If you are truly sorry for the things you have done, and have repented, you have nothing to fear. "Behold all things have passed away, you are a new creature in Christ Jesus." I know that is not verbatum, but you get the pic.
God does not want you to feel sorry for yourself, but to get back up and go on where you left off with Him.
It seems like you want to have your previous relationship with God again. Go for it, God wants to pick up where you left off too. I am happy for you for wanting God again.

After knowing the joy of forgiveness it hurts to know we have done wrong after slipping away. It seems much harder to find our way back. Here's a link to something I posted long ago on this very subject, maybe it will help bring you some comfort.

i just got christmas cards from the people from my old church, and they all say how much they miss me....it just makes me more confused and makes everything harder...

They probably do miss you.  I'm sure they still love you.  You are a child of God and of course your brothers and sisters still think about you.  Maybe it would help if you went back just to say hello to everyone?
