  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

They wink their eyes, with fingers crossed,
They lie, if truth be told,
They fake their looks, for they are crooks,
And they are very bold.

They do not shy from telling lies,
Tis nature to them, yes,
They’ve done this now for quite some time,
But why? Can you now guess?

They’re hiding truth, they are uncouth,
They want you not to know
That their performances do rate
As quite a great big show.

Their secrets they keep hid from you
And masquerade, they will,
For they do not want you to know
What happens up the hill.

They play the game, they’re not the same
As they will represent,
They hope that you will buy the truth
They quickly now invent.

They want to keep you on your toes,
Unbalanced so to fall.
For watching you believe in them,
To them is just a ball.

They’re hypocrites who play their tricks,
To catch you in their net.
They’re hoping with their fortitude
That you will get upset.

So do not fall into their traps,
Call out to God for help.
Resist their “playful” interludes,
And all the lies do pelt.

I notice an emphasis on "Fakers", but not so much "Takers" here. This poem could use a bit more work, as it feels more of a generic description of a deceiver aka Faker, and less of a rhythmic construction. I would think more about the drama of deception and situate the reader into an actual "Faker" encounter with specific details and the glory of the correct response. This will bring the readers into the drama and invest them more in the outcome.

In the Scriptures we are warned many times over against wolves in sheep's clothing, and false prophets, and of rulers who do evil and who are manipulative and who pretend one thing outwardly but are committing sinful acts in secret, that we are not to follow them, that we are not to do what they do, and that we are not to obey them if what they require of us is against God. Jesus warned his followers against the Pharisees, that although they had to obey them, that they were not to do as they did. And we are warned in the book of Revelation against the beast so that we don't end up taking his mark. And we are taught to test everyone and to guard against being deceived by those who are clever in their deceptions. Too many people today are putting their blind trust in those who are liars and deceivers who are con artists who are manipulating people's minds. And so the Scriptures warn us against such people so that we do not fall into their traps.

Linux, I appreciate you taking the time to give your critique of this writing. Do you believe that God gifts his followers with spiritual gifts, which are of the Spirit, and not of human flesh? Well, these poems are from the Spirit and not from my human flesh. I sit down with a blank screen in front of me and I pray that the Lord will give me the words to write, whether in song, in poetry, in devotionals, in Bible studies, or in Christian memes. When it is a poem, the Lord puts the words in my mind. It doesn't mean that I don't participate in the writing. I certainly do. But the poems are inspired by the Spirit, by God, and he feeds them to me in my mind, and I write them down as he gives them to me, and under his leading and direction. So, these poems cannot be altered unless it is for grammatical or spelling purposes, and it is necessary.

And on the subject of takers, I read this on Google:
AI Overview
Learn more

A "taker" is someone who consistently prioritizes their own interests and needs above others', seeking to gain as much as possible while offering little or no reciprocal value in return. They tend to be self-focused, may not consider others' feelings, and may exploit or manipulate situations to their advantage. END of Quote

I believe the description in the poem fits both with someone who is a faker and a taker. Sue Love
