Fake Viruses

Don't you hate them? Sometimes it's really hard to tell what's fake and what's genuine though as a "virus" just popped up for me and says that my computer was infected,.. but I was able to close out of it and everything seems to be running smoothly so I'm pretty sure that it was just a scam.

My boss once deleted System 32 thinking it was a virus. It was on the primary server for all the stores.

I'm guessing that it wasn't actually a virus then.

I think things have got better than years ago. I got a free version of an anti-virus program and works great. Never really have any problems at all. Years ago many times I did.

Malewarebytes. There's a version you pay for Premium but a free one too. I've found it's excellent better than others I've used. Now I'm picky on things I'll download too so that might help but as I say Malewarebytes I've found pretty good.

It's a scam but it doesn't mean your computer is clean. If you got the window when browsing around on the Internet, clear your browser cache and cookies. You should also check for browser add-ons that you didn't add. Scan your computer too, just in case.

Well there was a virus scan on my laptop and I appeared to be clear.

Since I use Norton through my Xfinity, Viruses do not come to my PC. I have had 0 issues with those things while using Norton 360.
