In Hebrews ch. 11:1 We read faith is the substance of things hoped for. Well what is faith then? Rom. 10:17 tells us how to get it or how it comes. By the word of God. We hear the word. The promises of God are the word of God as a example. Faith is believing. it stands in place of anything we hope for.
The difficulty to faith is two-fold. Matt. 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom. --- then all will be added. How can God give us anything if we are not seeking him.
Are you caught in the gotta have it now trap? By analogy we see children who cannot wait till their birthday. All they talk about is what they will get. Sounds like in most cases positive confessing what they have. They have to believe their parents or the giver.
God is not a giver to those who doubt only to those who believe.
I have heard it said-- you cannot presume anything on God. I would say a life of prayer is presuming on God. Why ask if there will be no answer.
I asked God for a bass guitar once , 3 months later It was mine and it was for free.
