• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just realized I have found a way to spend all day on these forums, without doing what I should be doing, and without bothering my conscience! Call Social Security and get put on hold!

What's more, this shows I am capable of multi-tasking after all!

Of course, if they ever answer, I may be so surprised I'll forget why I called them, and lose my train of thought on a po... ...hold on a minute

I take it you don't have a job to go to which means you're probably rich. I have some good causes to suggest:)
Have a less boring day and weekend.
Actually, I have several jobs to go to, but when and if I want. Problem is, people depend on me, and I hate to let them down. Oh, and no, I am not rich!

You’d have to be a man of great faith to think you’ll get a coherent, helpful answer to any question from a government agency.

Hey, since I've retired, there are times I have nothing better to do. But in truth, I've had no problems with SS. My wife and I each get our benefits deposited the 2nd Wed. of every month, without fail. At least so far. Where I have had problems is with the IRS. I've always done my 1040 myself. A few years ago, I had to file a 1040X amended return. I was still due a refund, though it was smaller than I originally had calculated. Honestly, it took more than a year to get my refund. I was on the phone every month checking the refund status. And waiting 20- 30 min. to speak to a live person. 2020 was the Covid year. I guess that did play a role. But it wasn't until about August of 2021, when I finally got my refund. Although, the IRS did pay me interest for the delay.
