I'm seeing lots of that lately. I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago and people I don't even know that well have brought me soup and flowers and offered their services in helping to drive my son around (it's my right foot so i can't drive either :(). It's interesting how something like this brings people together that may never have become friends.

Dear DrFate, there is still much warm-heartedness and compassion around, which always makes me feel that, no matter what we often hear from the News-media, the majority of us are kind and caring. Although Satan would prefere to think that he rules many of us, God`s Love in us will prevail. I say this humbly and lovingly and send greetings. Emmy, sister in Christ.

A few weeks ago I was breaking down while trying to work in the painting studio. I was having a really bad bout of depression. Instead of ignoring it or just telling me to feel better, my classmates cried with me, prayed with me, even laughed with me. They expressed empathy. They understood my struggle.

It's hard to convey when you worked there, but it was compassion in a way I had never quite experienced and it was enough to warm my heart for a good long time. :)

Please share examples of compassion and warm heartedness as expressed in daily life.

Some will probably say that this doesn't really belong here, but I would like to send out a special thank you right here to all who do volunteer work in organizations like the Red Cross et cetera. I've been active for the German St. John's ambulance service for years and when I think back and count the many hundreds if not thousands of hours I spent working for them, with no return other than getting free lunch during some services or a thank you from a patient... Yeah I'd say that there's commonly very much compassion involved in such voluntary service. And at least with "us medics" people often don't express the same gratitude they do for volunteer firefighters... sometimes I felt sad because of that.

Just my two cents worth. Thanks for listening, now on with our regular schedule.
