  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My soon to be ex called me the other day and asked to borrow a very small amount of money. He said he didn't have enought money to get to work and that if he didn't get to work then I wouldn't get any child support money. I quess he was trying to give me a guilt trip. I told him that I couldn't give him any money and that I would be uncomfortable doing so. I support my two children and myself on my paycheck alone since child support is sporadic and I don't think that I have to support him also. Has anyone ever dealt with this and/or what would you have done? I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks

It must make you angry that he came to you for money when you are trying to make things a go for your boys with the sporadic payments. I know the thing to do is to not give it to him, this will enable him to do this again but what would we normally do, help, with the heart of Christ. I was in the city with my husband the other day and paid for his parking fee of $25.00, that was close to half of what he gives me a week for my son. Will he give it back, will he thank me, no...He left us. I shouldn't be giving him any money for anything. :holy:
