EWTN is the Eternal Word Television Network, a Catholic cable station founded by Mother Angelica. They have loads of good stuff, including talk shows with priests, televised daily Mass, meditation with the Rosary, etc.

I watch it some of the time, but I confess that since the war started I haven't watched much of anything except news broadcasts several times a day.

It is certainly different from "evangelist" TV although it's goal is to evangelize. It is not pushy and money driven, it does not put down other faiths, it only focuses on teaching orthodox Catholicism.

Rarley do I watch television, but I have watched one or two programs on EWTN, and I enjoyed them. There is a Catholic radio station in my area that is good, too. I try to listen to that in the car and at home, but usually it is just background noise added to the choas of pre school aged  children.   Even though I only have 2, it still feels like chaos to me.

Did you know Mel Gibson is a hard core catholic? (seen him last night on ewtn) He is directing a new film titled "The Passion" about Christ. He also stated that he prefered the Latin Mass. FYI

I saw the same interview. It was good, but I kind of wish he was doing this in a language that I could understand.

I have to echo those who say since the war started I haven't seen as much of EWTN. We have TV in the computer room, so I can watch as well as go on line. The Comming Home show is my favorite, as there are so many different ways people came to convert/revert. Try to put on Mass in the morning or sometimes at noon.

Gideon, how are you signed up for EWTN in Canada? Last I heard it was illegal here, because you can't have a TV station devoted to one "denomination" to the exclusion of others? (Although they have no problem with the playboy chanel which to me seems to be devotion to the god of sex the exclusion of others...)

I called the cable company and ask to sign up. It cost $2.49 a month on a digital box.

I like Canada. It has big trees, big rocks, the air is clean, and the weather is nice and cool.

Besides, I have relatives there, ton of 'em right around Kitchener and Guelph.
