No. Under the new health care law certain employers have to provide insurance. Anyone that doesn't have insurance must buy it or face stiff fines (and possibly jail).
how totally unconstitutional
i thought the Supreme Ct was going to rule on this... or have they???
Yeah this is the kicker isn't it. First they promised that the government would not use tax money to fund abortions. Lie. Now they are going to force all of us who are against abortion, contraception, sterilizations, etc. to pay for it though our health insurance premiums. And so he slides it to the insurance companies paying. Anyone here think that the insurance companies are really gonna give it for free? Or add it to the cost each individual pays for insurance? What a looser Obama is.
Yes, they are expected to issue a ruling by the end of June. If they rule against the President's healthcare plan, then the HHS mandate is null and void.

Nothing is free and someone sure as hell is going to pay for all of this "free" stuff and it is going to be all of us that are not using all of this free stuff and many of us are against all of this free stuff.
I guess we can say now that religious freedom in American along with property rights is going to the wayside. Hum, I wonder where the first gulag will be set up.

THat being the case, they're probably not going to rule against the health care mandeate, because it's a measure that will have everyone insure and not burdening the rest of society with expensive ER cost for things like the flu.
Jim, you *do* know that this health care mandate is just going to *increase* the overburdening of the ER. Having a piece of paper that says that a person can get health care insurance isn't going to mean much when the people can't find any medical care except the ERs.
What will it mean for Christians if the mandate is null and void because Obamacare has been overturned? I have this sneaky feeling that until Obama is out of office, Christians are going to have to be very vigilant--I mean after the Supreme Court ruled for freedom of religion in January (that the religious institutions can decide on their own employees without government interference) you'd think Obama would know better than to try to tell religious organizations what to do. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to learn very easily -- first we have the HHS mandate, and then the "accomodation" (about which he never even spoke to the Bishops much less tried to compromise.)

AMDG said:Jim, I know whereof I speak. Even as I drive down the street each day, I see doctor's offices that are not taking patients. My own doctor is already cutting down his office appointments so that he can devote his time to the local hospital. (The fact remains that at least a third of the doctors will retire because of this mandate--it's not worth it to them PLUS at least a third are Catholic so will not in good conscience be able to provide health care and that leaves the ERs as the only source of health care even available.)
You know, I posted a newspaper article (from the capital of my Dem controlled state) about even the rationing that is on line to occur some months back. BTW, I checked it out with my daughter (who is poorer than me and so will be affected the most) and she said that she is already feeling it.
It's just common sense. "One can't put twelve pounds of flour in a six pound back."
BTW, Obama has already blown his cover, he's already tipped his hand by trying to force religions to do things against their conciences. Whether or not there is exemption on the abortifacients, other religions are aware. What is it going to be next. Forcing kosher deli's to serve ham? Rounding up Christians so that they don't bother the secularists? Continuing to destroy the Black families and black religions by telling us what "the gospel according to Obama" is?
