Borg is an apostate who rolls colored stones to determine whether Jesus actually said something or not...He eliminates all that could be seen as miraculous and neuters all that could be seen as maleness and then rolls his stones regarding what is left. If Borg is in any way correct then all the people the Apostles taught were either deceived or liars. The only history we have (which is more than for many accepted historical incidents from ancient history) all say Matthew was written first (in the Hebrew Aramaic), then Mark, then Luke (who probably borrowed from both) and later John and almost all scholars now recognize (even critical ones) that all the synoptic gospels were completed within decades of the events. This makes Borg incorrect again. Throw his book in the trash...if he is correct (though he has no factual basis for many of his opinions) then Jesus was not the Son of God but rather the illegitimate son of a lying harlot and He was not resurrected from the dead but rather His body was most likely thrown aside or buried in a shallow grave and eaten by wild dogs...according to Borg, Jesus was deified by his dejected and disappointed followers...he is a scholar of the spirit of anti-Christ and I beg you to avoid his intended beguilement at all costs (as well as anything written by Funk or Crossan, they are also opinionated liars and apostates whose so called version has little or no actual evidence, and even the little being a matter of interpretation according to their other heresies as the basis). I am telling you the truth...may the Spirit of truth speak to your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

I'm not even sure that anyone, with any degree of assured certainty, can prove what the order of the writing of the new covenant Scriptures is. So, I find that just his premise that he understands that order is highly suspect to me.
