  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is no evidence of evolution, there have been lies like the Piltdown man etc.

What is the proof of chemical evolution?

There is a mountain of evidence in support of evolution, but you are correct in saying that it does not explain the origin of life.

There is no such thing as "chemical evolution" - the correct term is Ambiogenesis. While it doesn't have as much evidence to back it up as evolution does, it's certainly a valid theory (theory meaning it HAS been reproduced in the lab). Did you even read my response to you on your C&E thread?

Also, Here is everything you ever wanted to know about evolution hoaxes:

Biogenesis says you cannot create life out of non life, abiogenesis is a theoretical position and has never been observed.
And yet abiogenesis has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, which is evolution. So I don't see why you (and others) continue to bring it up.

Ambiogenesis HAS been tested, and there is enough evidence for it to be dubbed a theory.

Also, Hannah's right. This thread is about evolution. If you have any questions or would like to debate further, that's fine. But because it has nothing to do with the origin of life, it's best to keep it out of this conversation.

You can't even spell it right.

I'm sorry, but a DNA molecule with 3.2 billion base pairs will NOT spontaneously arise out of Primordial Soup, especially in an environment that is sure to have a few drops of HNO3 in it.

Lol, sorry. For some reason my brain always wants to slip an "m" in there. =P My bad.

A DNA molecule would never "spontaneously arise" out of primordial soup, and no organic chemist has ever proposed such a thing.

I'll be honest - I can't rattle off facts about abiogenesis as fast as I can evolution. It's a process dozens of times more complex than evolution, and I'm no scientist. Chemistry really isn't my strong point. I hate to keep invoking videos instead of proposing my own arguments, but this guy knows much more than I do about the origin of life. He probably explains it better, too.
