Right, because evolution theory was a thing in the first centuries AD. And asking question is bad, I bet? If their church couldn't answer the questions, maybe that is because they didn't have the answers? Yes, usually asking questions is step one in losing religious faith. I had my first encounter with religion when I transfered to a catholic high school at 16, where I had to take a religious class. I asked questions. The teacher did NOT like me. And rightfully so. I exposed his nonsense quite easily. Eventually he just told me to shut up. Curious how the teachers of other classes actually ENCOURAGED the practice of asking questions - including those questions that they couldn't answer and then pointed us to sources where we could research and find the answers on our own. The contrast was very telling.
