  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are there things on this earth that can be seen as good, but are actually of evil. When people think of evil they think of murder, drugs, stealing, but what if the devil uses good to keep some from the truth. I don't mean to start a discussion over Mormonism, but they are some of the nicest people and do what we consider acts of God. I was wondering though is their religion made from the devil's workings?

As the Scriptures say:

(2 Corinthians 11:13) For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

(2 Corinthians 11:14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

(2 Corinthians 11:15) Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Dear Krick, yes you are right. the answer lies in knowing that there are two sources of life on this earth. One the tree of life (Jesus Christ), and the other the tree of the knowledge of (GOOD) AND EVIL.
Christain and non christain make decssions every day that have there basis in one or the other tree.
Hence a chirstain can be doing the Lords will one moment and the next be in sin, or look at it this way when you go to a church service do you really think that everyone has a clean heart?
So we must costantaly be checking ourseleves out before the Lord for it is only in his presents that we see ourseleves for what we really are.
And in his light our deeds are exposed as whether they come from the tree of life or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And in this light we may find that our own deeds that we though were of God actaully have an evil source.
For with out the Lords revelation we will not know the difference between good, evil (death) and the Lord (life),
For without the Lord we can only draw for one source and that is good and evil and in the Lords sight good and evil are one and the same, so hence we end up with good poeple going to hell, because they are trusting in there good deeds and not the Lord. be blessed

I've learned this from someone and I will share with you the knowledge he gave me and all who watched his telecast a while ago.

When you first start in a Mormon colt, you will never see Satanic work in it until you get higher and higher up in the levels they have.

And this is an important note for all of us, and I'm glad he taught this that night because I never knew Mormonism and it's inside secrets....

They tell you that they preach about the God of the Bible, the One and the Only, but they do not!!!!!!!

They preach about a man named Joseph Smith and not Jesus Christ.

That night, this guy got many angry people who are in a Mormon Colt who couldn't back up their accusations with the Word of God.

So, yes, it's only Satanic Rituals when you get Higher and Higher Up in their Mormon type levels they have.

And aslo this as well, Mormons will not tell you about their Rituals, they'll deny them all and they will argue with you no matter what you say.

And one more thing to see and understand, under their shirts they wear a black skin tight underwear shirt that is covered with Satanic signs, symbols and prayers.

God Bless You

Evil almost always disguises itself as good - no one would want it if its true nature were seen...

Think of all the unquestionably evil people and events throughout history, and how many of them claimed they were working towards a good result.

M. Scott Peck (The Road Less Traveled) also wrote a book called People of the Lie, which describes evil in detail, and steps for dealing with it. Very good reading if you can find it.

I really dislike how people focus on all of the bad, all of the evil and good seems to just be pushed out the window. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is filled with the same type of people from your church, all looking to better their lives. It's wrong to say what they are doing is evil, when all they are doing is worshiping God with a community they care about.
It's all about Love, and loving one another. Leave the hate out.

Oh goodness, you obviously are ignorant to this religion. There are not "Satanic" rituals in the mormon church. They do not worship satan, and the the mormon church's name is actually "THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATER DAY SAINTS" Do your research before you go sprouting ignorance and hate about other people's systems of belief. Though I am not Mormon myself, and don;t have the same values as they have, I at least have the decency to respect their beliefs. They are good, God-loving people.

Anyone can call themselves the Church of Christ, osoofoo. That doesn't make it true.

It says in Revelation that Jesus will bring a curse on anyone to adds to or takes away from His Word. They, by introducing the Book of Mormon, have added to Christ's words, and so have incurred His Wrath. If they have incurred His wrath, they are obviously not His sheep. If they are not His sheep, they are Satan's sheep. If they are Satan's sheep, you don't want to follow what they're saying.

Everything that is not of God is of Satan. Mormonism is not of God. Therefore, it is of Satan. Satan is not a peaceful, truthful guy. Therefore, Mormonism, being his creation, cannot be a peaceful, truthful religion. If Mormonism is of Satan, you ought not to be defending it.

I will stand up for them. I will stand up for anyone whose beliefs are attacks as being evil and of Satan, when they are people JUST LIKE YOU, but only have slightly different beliefs.
Jesus taught to love everyone, to worship god, and it seems as though simple ideas like that are looked over...they're ignored and evil, Satan, and what is bad is put in the foreground.
They might believe in the book of mormon, but it's just a book of ways to improve your life, just like the bible is. The bible is just a book, a book of ideas, and if you take those ideas word for word, sometimes you can loose the big picture.
It's funny how people seem to enjoy bringing an infinitely loving Christ down to our perverse level of hate, wrath, and hell fire. We say hate and segregation is bad even today in society, so wouldn't you think Jesus's level of understanding and love be much higher than ours?

I do think you have a good point, i don't agree with the fact that they have the "book of Mormon." As you say, that is adding to God's word, and he blatantly makes sure we know thats wrong.

HOWEVER, my mother used to be Mormon, and she is a VERY lovely woman, and is VERY strong in her faith in Jesus Christ and God. So i wouldn't say that the Mormon religion is THAT far off.

Keep in mind though, i'm not Mormon, and will never be. I just think we need to have the decency to allow them to have their values and beliefs. We also should not be accusing them for being satanic or anything as i'd previously read. ;)

I always thought evil was a manmade thing.
Deep.

I've been through several church situations where one illogical concept was accepted, and it grew into more illogical concepts that people thought were right. It is very easy to get off track.

If we scrutinized our thoughts, we would probably find that we're all off track in some theological points. We allow people we respect to influence us. It is often hard to discern whether something is inspiration from God or a falsehood.

Joseph Smith started out with a valid concern about the corruptions within Christianity, but took it too far. He did not seem to manufacture a false religion for his own gain, but allowed influences that supported his cause to interfere, without checking their sources.

If you read about the history of denominations and religions, most post-AD religions were based on reaction to corruption within exisitng ones. People are driven to purify and simplify, but end up blanketing themselves in additional policies that could protect a good thing.

While some call evil things good other call good things evil. I've seen it go both ways.

I have some problems with Mormanism and they may not get all the theology figured out in this world. Yet its pretty clear to me that they are trying to serve God out of a pure heart and just like me I think God will complete their salvation in the resurrect as long as they cooperating with God.

There were some individuals that did not follow the book toward ideal obedience. The thief on the cross was promised salvation when nothing else in his life revealed unusual devotion to God -- he believed that Jesus was not lying. I'm sure that God knew more thoughts that ran through his mind.

God revealed directions to the Magi (astrologers) after visiting Jesus at his birthplace. It didn't mean they had salvation, but they had some sort of favor for seeking His face.

Moses was born Jewish, but raised under Egyptian religious systems. This unfamiliar God called Moses to lead the whole gang, and delivered the Law through him. Moses met God through direct means, but could easily have been criticized for not being a devout Jew... until he responded to God's calls.

Abraham's faith was considered as righteousness to him. He lived pre-Jesus, pre-Law, but was the forefather of it all.

Jesus offered His sacrifice once, for all.
