There is a "sign" or "Mark" on God's people, however a individual can also get another "sign" or "Mark" that is from another, the Mark of the Beast. How so, well by following it in its false practices of worship, which is really worship of the Beast rather than a follower of God and the true worship He asks of us. So lets first look at the "sign" or "Mark" on God's people:

Ezekiel 9:4
And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Revelation 7:3
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Revelation 22:4
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

We see that the "sign" or "Mark" on God's people are on "the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof", and that are "sealed" in Gods truth and have "His name" on their foreheads. Now we also have another text which gives us a clue on God's people, we find it in Revelation.14:12 'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

We see that God's people, the saints, follow God's law, keeping His commandments. It is what are the saints, His people who keep His law, and now compare it to those who worship and follow another, in this case the Beast of Revelation.

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

The text in verse 9 says "If any man worship the beast and his image" it clearly leads to the mark of the beast, and we see the end result of that in verse 10. We find even more of those who pick up this mark in Revelation 13:16-17

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

This means an individual can claim to be a follower of God and still be worshiping the beast in what it lays out in its false system of worship, and thus the "sign" or "Mark" is not of God, but of the Beast. So we have to be careful not to just say we follow God and worship Him but to actually do what we say, and not follow the Beast or practices which can only be seen as worship to false gods and away from the true God.

What was the greatest abomination that the prophet Ezekiel saw in previous chapter? Biggest clue right there what the real mark of the beast is all about. Just as the Jews wear phylacteries on their hand and forehead in honor of Jehovah, the pagans have done the same with the "mark of the beast." It is a practice that goes all the way back to the Tower of Babel.

According to the chronology within the prophecy of Rev. 13, the beast who imposes the mark, is the beast that comes up out of the earth during the time of the end. Not back in the time of of the Tower of Babel. Who is the beast as you understand it?

Too, the Mark is said to be the name of that beast, and the number of his name. Prophecy goes further in telling us that number is 666. So how do you justify it being the "Occultic /Sun"? Also at the time it is implemented one can not buy or sell, unless one has the mark. That has never been the case in past history. I suggest you rethink this issue more, and take in all the facts more carefully. I'm sure you don't want to be misleading others.

It is also no coincidence that the swastika used by the Nazis is connected to sun worship. Their black sun symbol has made it even more obvious as to who they serve...
Also, several people have had dreams or visions that the final universal mark of the beast will be an electronic tattoo of a blazing sun.

In response to your first paragraph I agree that SB is a conglomerate, however, not as you understand it. It will be future event, a crisis government in response of the first four trumpet judgements of Rev., 8. It's purpose is to appease the wrath of God, unless the world be totally destroyed. It is made of of seventeen players, seven religious leaders of various faiths, (7 heads) the one that was previously wounded is the Catholic faith, which received a deadly wound in 1798, when the pope was dethroned and the "Dark Ages", ended. The ten horns are kings/Presidents of ten Countries. This coalition will act under marshal law and pass sinless laws to appease God's wrath. Satin will give it his seat and authority, and it shall last for a literal 42 months during the tribulation.

Under the 5th trumpet, God will allow Satin and his demons to leave the spirit realm and take on human form. Under the 6th trumpet, Satin will have taken complete control from the previous seventeen members and will reign as King of kings and Lord of Lords of all the earth, in the "One world Church/State". In (Rev. 13:14), this is referred to as the "image". In this phase Satin imposes his mark. Prophecy does not say it is a tattoo, however, a tattoo is a mark, which can go any where on the body. It will be either the name of the beast/Satin, which we don't know at the time, or the number 666. To imply it is any other than this is to reject, " a thus saith the Lord", for prophecy Is God ordained. His mark/tattoo will be easy to implement when the world is in survival mode in its last days, can't be lost or transferred, and easy to read.

The faith of the saints will be tested, and millions will die. Only the nonbelievers will accept his mark, in order to buy food, in doing they have chosen whom they will obey, "the man of sin". In the end they shall receive the full wrath of God. (Rev. 14:9-11)
