I was just thinking about so often I will be reading the bible and I will think...yes I know that. Or I will be reading it and thinking about how I don't enjoy all the begats. But I was wondering...with all there is to know in God, how little we know. And yet we sometimes get to the point when we dont know what to ask or seek anymore. At least I am like that. It's like...I have asked all the questions I knew to ask...now I am not curious bout things. But you know, I am finding that we don't even know the questions to ask God! I mean have you ever considered...what does God want me to ask Him today? What does He want to talk with me about? What can I learn from Him today? I just feel that there is so much more that we don't even know enough to seek for! Like job said:

Job 26
13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

How little we know of Him! And who can come to an understanding?! I feel ashamed at times that I don't seek or ask anything. I just spend my days at times with every now and then a worship song or prayer. I will open the bible and read over things I read countless times. And if the question "what have you learned today from it?" is asked I have to say I don't know. It's crazy how little we know. Yet even more crazy how we don't even know enough to ask questions!

But you know what I like? When people would ask God questions He answered with questions lol. I think God really is trying to help us to find questions to seek the answeres for! God is so good to us! He even helps us to be curious!

looksgood, how about getting involved with a group where there are a number of newer believers than yourself, or even seekers for truth?
Sounds like you might be ready to give a hand, maybe with someone experienced in leading groups.

I found that helping run Alpha courses made me really search for answers!
They come up with such difficult things.

Things like "why do good people suffer?" are SO hard to answer when you're faced with someone who doesn't know the Lord, or is very new and eager to know everything, or hardest of all, those who think they must be Christians because they were Christened as babies and go to church regularly, but don't actually read the Bible or know what they believe.

It really made me think, read, pray, re-examine WHY I believe what I do.

I think also we have to remember that the reason for learning about God is so that we can adapt our lives to His ways, not just so we can have a head full of knowledge:

James 1:22-25

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does.

(That's a reminder for myself too.)

I hope you continue to enjoy seeking and understanding God and His word.

God bless, Susana

What is there already happening at your church - are you in a small group yourself?
Can you ask your pastor to direct you to help someone run a bible study?

You need to have that experience before starting a new group. We all need to be nurtured and see good leadership in action in order to learn how.

Finding a prayer partner, or even having a triplet is also a great way to get deeper with the Bible.
You can take turns to bring a favourite passage, or a tricky one you're unsure of, each time you meet to pray. The advantage here is the bond you develop, and you can keep accountable to each other to carry out what you're learning.

You can pick a friend who is more mature, less so, or at your level.
Pray and ask God to bring you together with the right one, but be prepared to wait.
I am between prayer partners at the moment myself, but have come to see the value in it - I had become over dependent on my partner and neglected the Lord in the secret place. We need balance.

Start looking and praying for opportunities like this to share and learn together with others.

Blessings, Susana
You''ll both learn something.
