I thought the concepts were interesting, but writing and overall story were lacking.

Still like it though. Haven't seen the movies yet.

has TONS OF CABALAH AND GNOSTIC DOCTRINE!
This is one of my favorite anime, but i would say dont beleive a bit of anythin in there, it is full of junk

What a bloody mess. The last bunch of episodes simply disintigrated. They were completely directionless. Rah Xephon surpassed Eva in every single way.

yes, power to RahXephon! Eva was ok, but RahXephon was great, look at Episode 19, that was awesome. Eva also had many references to religion such as the NERV Symbol and EVA 00's lance

I actually pulled it off . I thought it was a good series but boy did it get me depressed... really need to read the manga to get the ending completely (even though you have seen the movies which are a must). But on the whole I thought it was a really good series. Not your usual anime.

overrated I think. I do like watching the Battle with Zeruel though, but almost immediately afterwards they seem to have forgotten about it. I thought Eva 01 would change after that or something, but it didn't at all. It would have been better to have Zeruel before Tabris I think.

No one on the team that produced NGE is a Christian. The director admitted that he thought Christianity would have a mysterous appeal to Japanese audience, since only about 2% of Japanese are Christians. Don't spend too much time what all the Christian symbols signify in this series; it's not good enough to be worth the trouble.

this anime is a masterpiece, but the ending makes perfect sense, you may have to watch it a couple times though.

but i probobly dont even have the true meaning of the ending...if there was a meaning.

you guys know that Evangelion is an allegory of the New Age, and the spiritual evoolution of man (as the new agers say). Shinji is the new age messiah, he in the the end is responsible for the decision that determined the fate of humanity (in end of eva). The LCL sea at the end of "end of eva" is a new age picture of at-onement, when all people will become like one being (you can find a better definition elsewhere).

i thought this series absolutley awesome. whicked animation and awesome fights. especially one of the last ones where shinji ends up fighting with one arm?? thats pretty awesome. i thought whole story was extremely good too. im a bit tired of most animes which are mostly same plots and copying one another. evangelion was one of the first animes i saw and was the one that really hooked me(along with teknoman. neone seen it??) in to anime. i also got the two dvd movies for x-mas. the movies were whicked too. it was a good ending but a little hard to understand. i think you need to watch it a few times to understand it. someone in this thread said that there was a manga on it? if so. can you give me any details on it. by manga did u mean comic?
