Please shed no tears because I'm gone
For I am with my precious Lord;
My dearest Friend, Who ransomed me,
And Who is by all saints adored.
I now can look upon His face,
Embraced by arms with nail-scarred hands.
And as I walk the streets of gold,
I hear the songs of angel bands.
There are no tears or sorrows here,
No weakness, and no grief or pain.
And if my leaving seems a loss,
Rejoice, because it is my gain!
Some day you, too, will be called home,
When earthly days will be no more,
And I'll await with outstretched arms,
To welcome you to Heaven's shore.
Life's days are short; redeem the time,
And live for Jesus faithfully,
Until we'll be again, my love,
Together for eternity.
