ERMC mortars?

What's everyone think about these new ERMC mortars? Sounds like it will save some money.

I think the idea is sound. Mortars for far too long have been a neglected part of our armed forces. While they have disadvantages when compared to traditional artillery, light mortars do give light infantry some portable heavy firepower that they can carry with them.

Try putting an M109A6 on your back.

Are they going to replace artillery? Of course not. But they definately have their uses.
