  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey, something interesting- I live in Harrisburg, PA. There is a nearby town called Ephrata that has something called the Ephrata Cloister, it is a tourist place that you can visit, I was down there years ago and took the tour of the place. It was a Christian convent run by some very devout believers in Christ back in the 1800's, they shared something interesting about it. Apparently the leader of the convent at the Cloister claimed that God spoke to him one day and told him that the Cloister would still be there standing in existence at the second coming of Christ! The place is still standing to this day and it is a little run-down but still going strong!

I visited there in the 1990s & it is an interesting sight & Ephrata is a nice town. The great Pennsylvania colonial frontiersman, Conrad Weiser, sojourned there.
