Enough! (We Don't Need Handguns - When God Is for Us, Who Could Be Against Us)

Enough! Is what He said. Have we no trust in His might?
Did we really think bearing arms was a God given right?
Turn the other cheek for vengeance is Gods right.
Only then can we celebrate a truly special Saturday Night.

It may be lawful, and it may indeed be just,
But we can live in confidence, when in God we truly trust.
Only the weak and fearful, or those with thieving hearts of lust.
The power to kill your brother Is this such a must?

No! For God gives us a spirit confident and strong
Which proceeds not from a metal barrel short or long
But from the God Eternal to whom we all belong.
So let us not continue to idolize that which is wrong.

If it can keep a Colt or Beretta out of a killers hands.
Why not limit access to these deadly brands.
Let us despise the gun all across our lands.
Waiting? Tracking? Forsake them altogether as Jesus Christ commands!

No one is an island, separate and insolated from the main
So send not to know who was the victim, Let me explain:
When a killer shoots our neighbor we all feel the pain
Listen to all the gunshots - they toll for thee again.

Hand guns are made for killing, they arent good for anything else
And if you like your whiskey you might even shoot yourself.
So why dont we dump them all in the sea off the continental shelf
Before some fool comes and finds us, and shoots both of us and himself.*

Well....in my opinion, there is certainly nothing wrong with possessing weapons. I have an arsenal in my home for home defense and and have a concealed carry license for when we are out. I don't think this is not trusting God to protect, just using good common sense...... Even those with Jesus carried weapons

I truly believe that He can protect me.

That being said, there's the old story about the man on his roof and the waters were rising. A truck came along, a canoe came along, a boat came along, a helicopter came along, and he kept repeating "God will protect me". Well, the waters came and he was drowned. In Heaven, he asked God why He didn't help him. God replied, He sent a truck, a canoe, a boat and a helicopter. What else did he want?

The same thing applies to a gun. My wife and I have had to use guns twice to discourage burglars, once when she was alone and pregnant. Think that one through. I've had to set in front of a door, hoping that it would hold as someone tried to get in and the cops wouldn't come, knowing that I and my gun was all there was between whoever was there and my family.

Here's the real truth. There is no one better placed to physically protect you than you. He says He will be with you. He doesn't say that He will stand in front of you and protect you when bad people come for you. If He did that, all of the disciples would have died of old age. All but John were killed for their beliefs.

Sorry if that upsets some of you, but that's the reality of life.

Yes, I have seen His hand reach out and protect those who believe. A prayer group in a local church was part of a 24-hour prayer group, and praying in a church tower when a tornado hit. The tower was literally stripped of everything, down to the bare metal steel and concrete of the base structure, yet the ladies survived without a scratch. There is no other way to describe this than as a miracle.

However, I believe in taking the opportunities to protect myself, especially today. You never know who is going to drive up along side of you on the freeway and shoot you (this is not uncommon). You never know when someone high on drugs is going to try to rob you, rape your wife, kill your children.

I will pray that He will lead evil away from me, but I will still be prepared.

God can protect us. But do all believe in God? Us, as believers in face of death can laugh it in the face. Because we know where we will go. Yeah, my dad has two .50 calibers for self-defense. I honestly believe we don't need them. As long as we believe with our hearts that Christ is Lord..nothing will stop us . And if we do die..we know where we run to.

God does call on us to be Charitable, to act to each other as we would treat Him directly. But He explicitly proscribes retribution - reserving that right for Himself - "Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord".

I certainly sympathize with you on the issue of self defence but I don't agree. God does say that He will defend us (over and over again) and turning the other cheek is a very powerful way of witnessing your faith in Him.

I believe in not only the right to self-defense, but also in the rightness of self-defense. When one has the power to prevent serious bodily harm to oneself or others at the hands of evil men, not to do so is evil. It's not complicated.

Yeah, that's the ticket! We'll outlaw guns, and then bad folks won't be able to get 'em! It worked for cocaine, so it'll work just as well for pistolas. (Come to think of it, why don't we just outlaw killing folks? That'll put a stop to it.)

I don't own any Colts (yet ) but I've got 2 Berettas and I've had them for years and haven't been deadly to anyone.

Now if you are talking about the Dodge Colt or Chevrolet Beretta then ya might be onto something...lots more people being killed by cars than guns ya know.

Lives are protected by these weapons, otherwise why do cops and soldiers carry them?
