Dear Daily Message Readers,

READ: Jude 1:14-16

BIBLEGATEWAY LINK: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=jude%201:14-16;&version=47;

Please take a moment to write down these four facts concerning the prophecy of Enoch for us today:

  • The Lord’s return is a certain and sure event.

  • The Lord’s judgment will be accompanied by His holy ones.

  • God’s judgment is against everyone.

  • The results of the Lord’s coming judgment will be obvious.

Perhaps most striking about these two verses is how early on God communicated His coming judgment to the world. Think of it: God has warned humanity for thousands of years about the Day He has fixed to judge the world. I have received feedback from readers of this devotion who have said this topic is “too harsh” and “not needed.” Many have said I need to be “more loving” in my approach to teaching Jude.

Madness!

I don’t claim to be perfect in everything I write here. I struggle daily. My heart is dull from time to time when I worship. I am sinner no greater or less than you, dear reader.

But the reality of the judgment ought to soberly remind you of how holy and loving God really is. It ought to compel you not to judge others. It ought to bring comfort to you as a saved Christian about your salvation. It ought to cause you to live a holy life. Not only is this topic needed, but we ought to keep it in the forefront of our minds until that Day comes.

Faith Lesson and topic verses:

Titus 2:11-14 “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. 12 It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. 14 He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.”
